Preparing Your Disaster Plan and Supplies During COVID-19

It is more important than ever to start preparing for disaster season.

Due to COVID-19 getting supplies may be slower, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to prepare.

Update your Go-Bags to include the following:

Emergency Supplies:

If you dipped into your emergency supplies during the shelter in place order, making sure to replace anything that was used. Check the expiration dates of your supplies and replace anything that is expired.

Medications:

  • Make sure to protect yourself when going to the pharmacy to refill prescriptions. If possible, use home delivery or use drive-through windows or curbside pickup.
  • If you need to go to the pharmacy in person make sure to take proper precautions, maintain social distance, wear a mask and use hand sanitizer.
  • Check in with your doctor and pharmacist early refills once an emergency declaration has been made
  • Order extra medications, including flea and tick medication for your pets.

Take Inventory:

Take advantage of the shelter in place orders to update your home inventory. Take pictures and videos of your belongings, save them to a cloud or email them to yourself to have as a backup.
